Through a combination of commitments fishing less and shear laziness I have been very quiet with my reporting so here is one of three summaries which updates you all to how my fishing journey has been progressing. After having a successful winter chasing school mulloway and elephant sharks spring and summer have brought no joy. On this front with many trips resulting in doughnuts, stingrays of various species and hordes of sand crabs. The best capture I have had throughout this time period has been a 70cm Mulloway caught during an abrupt weather change, a nice fish to catch of the beach but nothing worth photographing as if were released promptly.
Summer Salmon have been an enjoyable pass-time again fishing south of Adelaide I have had success on both baits and lures on fish between 30-65cms. With flat swell light winds and a run out tide proving to be the conditions most desirable to fish. It has also been common to catch mullet up to the 28-30cm mark whilst fishing for salmon trout, which has meant most trips provide more than enough sea bounty for an enjoyable meal. We have been smoking the larger salmon which has been a winner with all who have tried. However with salmon fishing remember to only keep what you will eat fresh as once it is frozen, salmon is only viable as bait.
