Out In The Blue

Over the past few months I have been lucky enough to tag along with the old man and fish the southern ocean for various species predominantly targeting Southern Blue Fin Tuna. My old man is a guru and has been around boats and the water for a very long time which makes trips out into the southern ocean feel much less worrying, however you can never get complacent. Fishing for SBT’s is often fickle with more often than not fish being seen time and time again prior to a hook up, if a hook up occurs at all. However that is all part of it, as there is nothing more thrilling than the first run of a SBT. This type of fishing has been the highlight of my recent trips and I do recommend booking a charter to chase these wonderful fish if you have the opportunity.
